From family time to local traditions – we can’t wait for Easter
When it comes to Easter in the Algarve, the region really knows how to celebrate, filled with magical traditions, religious ceremonies, spectacular processions and endless opportunities for fun.
For 2024 – the celebrations will begin on March 24th for Palm Sunday, culminating on March 31st for Easter Sunday.

Shops will be closed on Easter Sunday, but you can prepare ahead of time for a

For outdoor enthusiasts, Easter in the Vilamoura area offers a plethora of activities to enjoy. Charter a boat for a fishing trip, stroll along pristine beaches or embark on scenic hikes through the Environmental Park.
Or enjoy the spectacle of a parade: the Festa da Mãe Soberana (Feast of the Sovereign Mother) in nearby Loulé is one of the biggest processions in the country, taking place on Easter Sunday. It is a solemn procession in celebration of Easter and a fantastic event to witness, ending with an impressive firework display.
